This year-long English course emphasizes the development and refinement of skills that learners will be asked to utilize throughout the entirety of their high school career and beyond. Some of these skills include resilience, self-direction, communication, collaboration, critical thinking, leadership, decision-making, creativity, and cultivating a passion for lifelong learning.  Learners will use various modes of literacy (reading, writing, speaking, listening) in order to demonstrate their understanding and mastery of these standards.
